SMILE on Down Syndrome has been working diligently for the last 23 years, helping individuals with Down Syndrome live a full and productive life. SMILE is the acronym for Support-Management-Information-Love-Encouragement. Starting with the baby’s diagnosis, we strive to offer parents the most up to date and accurate resources available to help them on this unanticipated journey into the special needs world.
We offer a variety of services, classes, programs, events, and activities to parents, individuals with Down syndrome, or other intellectual disabilities, healthcare professionals, schools, and the community at large. We also provide our services free of charge! We do not receive any government funding, solely relying on corporate sponsors, small grants, and individual donations.
This is why we are reaching out to you. SMILE has our largest fundraising event coming up on October 5, 2024. This beloved annual event is affectionately known as the SMILE MILE. The purpose of this event is not just to raise our yearly funds for our non-profit, but to also bring awareness of the beauty that is within individuals who are born with Down syndrome. SMILE has been working toward a dream of growing our organization by growing the space in which we reside! We need your help and others like you to make this dream become our reality!! Our goal for the 2024 SMILE MILE fundraiser is $100,000. This amount will give us the ability to continue to help people with Down syndrome, their families, and our tri-state community as a whole.
